Finally A Post

Please Note: I cannot access Debra's Bits and Pieces and Kearnel's Korner, I get a malicious page notice, not sure what is going on, does anyone else have this problem?

I am so sad I have not been able to comment and post about what I am up to, as many of you know I have had issues with my PC and IPAD, for some reason Google did not like my IPAD.
I have been in bed for the last week, I did not get my flu shot last winter, shame on me, I have been suffering with the flu and will not ever forget to get the shot again.
Well apart from being sick I did get some stitching done but only for short periods of time.

First I did stitch the SAL along with http://crocetteagogo.blogspot.com, I did the colors of threads a little different then hers, I hope you like it, I plan on turning this into a box top and giving as a gift.
So sorry about the bad photo.
If you can please stop over to her Blog she has a lovely fall design she is sharing.

I also have been working on a Shepherds Bush design I found for free at the Stash Relocation Pile at retreat in August.
I hope to be finished by Saturday and take to the framers, this is going to hang in honor of my Mother, she loved Angels Stars and the Moon.

I found in my mail box  my kit from Scattered Seeds Samplers, I love Tammy Blacks designs,  she has an automatic shipment four times a year, I want to start stitching this very soon.

Tammy includes everything to stitch this design, I love strawberries and this one has my heart💖

I have ordered two really sweet designs from http://happinessiscrossstitching.blogspot.com
Lynn is a very talented designer, you must stop by her blog and check out the designs she has done in the past and present, Lynn has a gift to match colors perfectly together.
I found out that I won her giveaway, she is very generous with her giveaways.
Lynn also has an Etsy shop she makes the prettiest bags, I am not sure she has any right now but please check her out.
I plan on doing these as stand-ups, they will be used for the dice game at retreat next month.

I just love these two designs, we need to bring anything handmade or related to stitching for the dice game, I am thinking maybe a nice pair of scissors and needles the third gift.
I am looking forward to this retreat, the ladies are a hoot and so sweet to be around.

It is raining and time to do maybe a little stitching.
Thank-you to al who follow me and leave comments, I look forward to reading them all.

ISHW A Late Post

Just a note: Debra Of Debra's Bits and Pieces and Kearnel's Korner I cannot access your blogs,  I get a page saying it is a bad site to visit.

Last weekend was the IHSW  ( International Hermit Stich Weekend) appears every month on the third weekend starting on Friday, Jo over at serendipitousstitching.blogspot.com is the hostess, look her up this is a way to let others that are not your followers see what you are up too, plus you get to see Jo's site, she is working on a Discworld Mappe which is amazing.

I have been to the Minnesota Needlework Guild Retreat the 5th -11th, I always have such a great time.
I took a class and will show you in my next post what I worked on and how much is done, plus the big mistake I made which is fixable.

So I finished stitching the Betsy Morgan class I took in Madison Wisconsin in July, I am so happy with this set, the fabric is a beautiful yellow and worked with black and gold silk threads.
I did change out the CAL and date for Save Our Bees, plus on the needle holder strip at the bottom I changed out three of the long arm over four stitch's, I just could not get them to look right or lay right.
I will need to get the set constructed now which I am way behind on my other construction of stitching I have done, I need to have just two or three days to get caught up on that.

So sorry about the shadows in the corners I had to take a photo outdoors and it was windy, this is the best I could do.

We have been busy with so many things around here I am doing so much in my sewing room and still do not see a light at the end of the tunnel, so many things need to be finished including stain glass and beading projects, Christmas will soon be here. Where did summer go? I am not sure.
Well I hope you all have a beautiful week and get lots of stitching done.
Thank-you for visiting and your comments.

Some Stitching Baking And A Retreat

Hello to all my dear followers, it is still busy here at home but getting things done.
I have been stitching my fingers off, I do love to stitch but first I want to show you something, A sweet Lady named Shirley whom volunteers at the food shelf as I do wanted me to post about the croutons I make.
It is a very simple recipe and well worth the time.

First I buy a loaf of garlic bread pull apart from Target, you may find it elsewhere, then I cut the pieces into small squares, some are a little off shape, then I put in a very large bowl pour a small amount of olive oil spices of my liking, I do not put in salt there is enough salt in the bread and garlic already, see photos on how to do this, it is like a great treat or great on salads.

Oh so good, Mike and I like them like a snack when we want a treat, I hope if you do this you also like them.

I was working on my class project from Madison and am almost finished with the box, I am loving this design, Betsy Morgan does such a beautiful job designing. The fabric is a bright yellow the camera will not pick that color up for some reason.

I will be taking that above project to Needlework guild this week, I will be gone from Monday to Sunday, Mike is having family come over for a little getaway, they do not have much money so this gives them a chance to see him and have a staycation.

I have been working on a class project from the guild retreat there is pre-stitching, I will post a photo later this week.
I promise to send out thank-you emails this week for the comments on my last post.
I hope you all are having a great week and do loads of stitching.

Hugs

I am Back Finally

Hello to all my followers: I am so sorry I have not emailed thank-you's for the comments left on my last two posts, it has been crazy nuts here, we are trying to get so much done before the cold weather hitsus.
We had a Family reunion with Mikes cousins which was a blast, we are connecting with people we have missed over the years.
I was at a retreat in Madison Wisconsin, I had a table mate which I hope to continue to connect with a gain, she is from Colorado, originally from Minnesota, she was a lovely stitcher and a blast to talk too, she did such beautiful stitching.
I was able to finish stitching a needlebook but need to construct it, it is a Betsy Morgan (Wiling Hands) Design.

This is the same fabric as the needlebook, the lighting yesterday was horrible, so the yellow fabric looks brown, this is the box which has six sections, I am now working on section three.
Betsy was a delight and so much fun, she told us she is going to retire to stay home and stitch, I think she deserves to do so after all her traveling and teaching, she travels across the sea and teach's, what an amazing lady she is.

This is the pre-stitch I did  before going to Madison, I still need to construct it, it is the Waxer Box, it is adorable when finished, I hope to get to it soon.

This is the complete set, which I hope to work on soon, it is really pretty in person. it is called this One's For Betty, which has a beautiful story attached to it, I would tell you but Betsy still has classes of this design and I do not want to say anything because Betsy talks about it in her class's.

I want to show you what the beautiful Pamela from japan sent me, a scissor fob it is beautiful, her work is perfect, even Betsy commented about how lovely it was. http://hokkaidokudasai.blogspot.com stop over she has been doing a temperature quilt, it is an amazing color combination.

Well its has been busy, we finally finished the railing and floor on the deck, we are enjoying it so much.
We will be doing some landscaping and planting a new tree.

I will be at retreat all next week Monday to Sunday, it is the Minnesota Needlework Guild retreat, I save up all year to go, I am a day stitcher which saves me money, I live only 14 miles from the retreat center, this gives one more person a chance to stay at the center, a room I do not need, I do not mind traveling back and forth, I still get two meals a day but save money this way.
I won two blue and one red ribbon at the County Fair, I will post photos on my next post after I pick up my items from the Fair.
Time to go shopping you al, stay safe and have a great week.

It Has Been A While

Thank-you for all your comments in my previous posts, I really am thankful for them.
I have had a busy month, many graduations, 90th birthday party, 50 wedding anniversary party, our 42 wedding anniversary, painting the bedroom which was a chore, working on the railing and floor of the deck in back which is 52 feet long with extensions. a car accident, (I was driving) a deer decided to land on my car,  and of course I did  some stitching.

I was able to almost finish completely constructing my Jeannette Douglas project from last year, I just need to add the ribbons on the needleroll and finish stitching up the ends.

                                                                Pin Pillow

Scissor Pocket which I love, however I did not like working with the silk duponi.

                                                                   Six Sided Cube

                                                                   Scissor Fob

                                                                  Needleroll

                                                                      Needle Book

                                                                The Box Top

I finished stitching the Scattered Seed Drum, I forgot to take a photo of it before starting construction, so sorry.

So sorry about the crappy photos, I need to press this before  finishing, I have a sleeve for ironing, its an antique but works for ironing anything that is round and you do not want a crease.

I am going to a Betsy Morgan class in Wisconsin this week, I am going to leave a little early so I may check out Lynn's Shop in Madison and spend a little or lot of money.
I have some pre-stitching to do, I am not sure I like the black stitch's for framing, I may just change it to a lighter color, it is just to much for me.

I will be taking two classes, I am really excited about this, I love Betsy's designs.

I am looking forward to seeing some of the other stitcher's  that I have stitched at other retreats.
If you ever get a chance please do a retreat it is so much fun meeting people from other states and I have met a few from other countries.

Well its time to stitch some and then off to bed, I worked at the Food Shelf today cleaned out their freezer in the front of the store sorted donations and put on shelves, it is busy on Monday mornings, we open in the evening on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday mornings, I truly enjoy volunteering there.
I hope the storms stay away from the south east coast and the fires in Arizona do not hurt anyone.

Blessings
To you all

A Little Bad News And Some Stitching

Thank-you to all my followers for your comments and visits I truly enjoy them.

I had a bad day on Tuesday, we were on our way home from a late lunch early dinner and bam a guy hits a deer coming from the other direction it bounced off his car and landed on ours I was driving, I am not sure why but I did not get shook up like Mike did, it is amazing I kept my cool.
The deer was so big, I used to hunt, this was the largest deer I have ever seen, he did get up after a while and run away.

Now I have been doing some stitching, in between painting working on the back deck and other things that need repair and stuff that needs to be done outside.

I finished stitching my Scattered Seed Needleroll, I am working on the inside and will finish it this evening and construct it tomorrow.

I love this needleroll.

This is the inside of the needleroll I just need to ad the other two needle sizes, then I can construct it.

Now if you enlarge this photo you will see a line in the fabric, well being the airhead that I am, I started at the wrong end when I put it on the frame and started on the long end of fabric, however I was not going to start over, I have done this before, so I added  linen on the bottom, I will iron it flat and hope it does not show, I  have done this before it has work out just fine.
So sorry it is not ironed I wanted to get a post in today.

I did do some construction on my Jeanette Douglas Class piece from last year.

I plan on staining the inside of the box, I am getting excited to get this one done, I hope to enter it in the county fair and maybe the state fair.

I will be working on the other pieces of this set, they are all stitched but need construction..

I received the second piece of the Scattered Seeds Sampler (there are four projects)
Tammy does such a lovely job creating these designs.

http://scatteredseedsamplers.blogspot.com take a stroll over to her site.

Well Mike is making steaks with mushrooms and onions this evening, I am hungry.
I hope you are having a great week, i hope your weekend is a beautiful one with lots of fun things planned.
Thank-you for stopping by.

Just A Little Beading

Hello Dear Friends: Thank-you for stopping by reading my Blog and leaving comments.
I have a few new followers, I do not have your Blog address or a way to follow you, if you could please leave a comment with the blog address where I can find you and comment on your Blogs.
Thank-you to all who read and do not comment.
I have been beading and stitching, I will show a photo of my stitching on my next post.
I made the beaded needle-case's, they will be trading gifts for retreat in August.
I like the black one the best, I played around with colors a bit as you can see, they are big enough to hold needlepoint needles, I bought them at Potomac Bead on the net, they have many videos and have lots of sales of beads and charms, check them out sometime.
After watching the video once I was able to make the other four without the video, if you are interested in making them the video is called Crystal Needle Case Cover tutorial, there are other beaded needle-case videos on You Tube, I may try them out.

I will be doing a purple one for Sue and a Red White and Blue for LaRue, they are very special people in my life.

Time for coffee and a little lunch
Have a great Day

A Constructed Finish Of My Victoria Sampler Pin Cushion

Hello Dear Friends: Thank-you all for visiting my Blog on my last post and commenting.
I am excited to say I finally spent yesterday afternoon constructing the Victoria Sampler Pin Cushion, Needlebook and Needle Emery, I like it but still like the first on I did.
The first one has specialty stitch's and different finishing on the needle book.

So sorry about the weird photo, the sun was not out when I took this photo, this is the one from Victoria Sampler Spring Fling retreat, put on by Stitchville USA a couple years ago.

This is the Strawberry Pin Cushion, it is not as intricate as the first on, I am thinking of putting ribbons on the needle book to match the above needle-book, but using red instead of green ribbons,
What do you think?

This is the top of the Strawberry Pin Cushion as you can see, just rather plain but I love it.

See the ribbon embroidery and specialty stitche's on the first one I made, I love this Pin Cushion.

I  am joining Jo over at http://serendipitousstitching.blogspot.com for:

The Peoples Choice is Mermaids this month, please link over to her Blog, she has some amazing Mermaids to show you.

My One and only Mermaid I have stitched is from Blackbird Designs

I do have some photos from Pinterest to show you, they are not mine but still very nice designs.

I hope your week is going well, I will be posting another constructed design maybe tonight or tomorrow.

Hugs
Catherine
