A Round Robin and Vacation

While I was on Vacation a lovely exchange arrived from Cucki at http://cuckistitchingcove.blogspot.com, please stop over to her blog it is a lovely place to visit.
I think the name of this is Out Flying, I love this beauty, it is a  7X7 square, I am not sure what I will do with it  just yet I do have an idea so we will have to wait and see.
Thank-you Cucki.

Last sunday my wonderful Husband surprised me with a vacation to Cancun Mexico,  I had no idea he was going to do this he is so romantic, he cooked this up and even called my boss to ask for the week off for me, wow Mike you are the best.

This is the front of the Resort taken from about a half a block away.

The entryway is stunning offering two flat fountains which were something to see.

Live Aqua is the name of the Resort it is amazing you are pampered from the time you get there until you leave wow, on entering you are given a cool cloth to wipe you brow and a tea that was something I had never tasted before it was amazing.

You can see a few of the eight pools, they even had a hottub which we did not use, we have a hottub at home, the pools are so nice they had a long pool for the long distance swimmers which Mike used
the most or you could go down to the sea and swim however the winds were high so I stayed by the pools.

We had many visitors that were just beautiful, the green iguana was so sweet he let me get only a foot away from him to get this picture, the bird stayed by us for a long time she even put her foot in the pool to tsest the water.

Across ther street from the resort was La Isla shopping center, it was big with loads of shopping and restaurants, we did not do any shopping just walked around and bought Starbucks coffee, we had our pictures taken with these to statues, I know Spiderman but not sure of the man on the bench.

Here are a few pictures of the restaurents ther are six places to eat on the grounds featuring specialtys of all kinds all food is made from  scratch including the sauces and dressings, yummy.
Of course Mike had to take a picture of my burned face ouch.

It was our 37th anniversary on the 11th of june, so Mike had something special done for me, while at dinner, a person went to our room and put rose petals everywhere it was so beautiful, I was shocked he is so romantic, the tub was big enough for four people,  the candles were lit and on the floor when you stepped into the room from the halway, it was so charming.

We had an awful experience at the airport, I was qued what ever that means and had a full search, I am not against it for the fact that with what is going on in this world we need positive security,
we stopped at my office to pick up my company car and got home about 12:00 midnight, it was a long day and a beautiful vacation.

Next week is ISHW week-end, I need to catch up on my stitching.

Blessings

New Stash A Round Robin and a ISHW week-end starts this friday

Happy Spring to you al welcome to all my followers, I have not posted sinch april, it has been a very busy month with a passing of a relative and loads of work, I will need this stitching week-end really bad, I put in an extra 40 hours in this pay period and still have tomorrow and friday whew.

I Have joined a Round Robin this is my first, I do wish I could show you what I am stitching for my partner, that will just have to wait until she recieves it, I am excited about this I have never done this before and am enjoying it so far.

I bought some stash from The Silver Needle in Tulsa, Ok., they have a stash reduction sale going on and I bought the $7.50  before postage it is worth it,  I am so glad I did this I did recieve some things I really like,  pop on over to their site, to see what the prices are, I did not know what was coming but am so glad with my purchase.

I am not a red hat lady but do like the pattern with the beads and humming bird ornament.
The bone lacy round came broken on the Marie Suarez kit, I can fix that with a little jewelry glue, the Sweetheart pattern is so pretty I think this will go to my niece to stitch.

I plan on using the pocket for a gift I need to start stitching this soon for a gift to be given in june, this kit comes with everything you need including a needle.
The  Pine Mountain Best Witches kit is adorable, I need a new item to stitch for halloween and this is it.

Three of the  patterns above are going to a stash sale in october at retreat.
Fancy That  Long May She Wave I will stitch for my Patriotic corner on my landing.

I like all these patterns, The Mill Hill booklet I will keep I love that bunny stand-up, I am going to stitch up the Sunflower Seed halloween pattern into ornaments for my halloween tree.
The other patterns will also go to the stash reduction sale.

I was in the grocery store one day last week and found these two books, wow they have great patterns for quilting and cross stitch felt rugs and loads of fun stuff, I need to subscribe to this magazine.

I did manage to use one of my gift certificate from my wonderful Husband, they are for my favorite stitch shop Stitchville USA here in Minnesota, sooo I wanted that oh so cute Owl from Just Nan and the Christmas Mouse, I love these little ornaments they are so sweet, when am I going to have enough time to stitch all these things? I need another 50+ years just to use up the stash I have, I am not the only one in this world that has this problem I am sure, I like to read about the stitchers like me.

I am so glad the snow is gone (I hope until next winter) cross my fingers, I was on the road in the last storm it was horrible and so slippery, a person needs to be very hardy to live in Minnesota and put up with the crappy winter driving conditions.

I hear dinner calling baked chicken and a hardy salad sounds good, happy stitching to you  all and many blessings.

ISHW and Robins in the snow

Good spring day to you all, I am so happy to have today off, I donot have many of these.
Last week-end onm y ISHW (International Stitch and Hermit Week-end)
I worked on my Drawn Thread Sampler Pocket from Retreat that Stitchville put on at the beginning of the month.
I had only the upper left hand stitching done that is the green crosses with the Jessica Stitch, I was not fond of this stitch, only because I cannot get them to look so good. I do want to get this done soon.
So sorry for the wrinkles I am not a frame stitcher I like the feel of the fabric in my hand.

Up next is the Just Cross Stitch Magazine ornament from 2009, I love this ornament,I added a few more beads then it needed I do like the way it turned out, I stitched this earlier this year I wanted to do the finishing just to get it done to show you.

This is one of my Up For A Challenge 15 I did stitched this ornament in january, I finally did the finishing work, whew I am so far behind on stitching, this is a Shepherds Bush Behold, I do wish the picture would show the buildings better they are so sweet.

I wanted to show you the poor robins in the snow last week, on wednesday we had rain-snow-rain and again snow we had 1 inches here in Annandale, the poor robins were shivering their little feathers off.
I hope they build homes in our yard again, they are fun to watch, the babies are so cute.

The birds on my neighbors yard are not the birds in the tree there were about 50  or more robins in the front yard between Margarets  and my home. The tree in Margarets yard is an ornamental tree with dried berries falling off from last season, since the worms are burried for the winter the robins need to make do with old berries.

It is time to stitch I will post again on saturday or sunday of my progress on my Sampler Pocket.
I wanted to tell you about a lovely blogspot I have found, if you have not visited Samplers and Santas, I am not sure of the link so sorry, please look her up on Google you will be surprised with the lovely patterns she has for free. Samplers and Santa.

Blessings to you all

Mike came home from out of town in time for dinner baked chicken wing drummies with chili sauce yum, green beans with almonds another yum.
I was able to finish a rabbit penny rug I had cut it out last month and stitched it on tuesday, this is a pattern from the April 2010 Create & Decorate magazine, can you guess where I got this magazine yep at stash reduction sale at october retreat last year gota love the oldies but goodies.
So here she is I just need to add a ribbon for hanging. I did not add the round tail I think it is just a little to much, I used buttons from my button jar stash.
This is a pattern designed by Linda Watkins and Angie Williams, so sorry it is not ironed I will do that today.
The picture does not show how pretty the colors are on this Bunny mat.

This is what it shoild look like, I did not want to make a pillow,  sorry for the flash in picture.

Next is the project I plan on starting on tomorrow after I do some stitching on my Drawn Thread Pocket sampler from Retreat.

Retreat Post and some other goodies to share

Welcome to all my followers and welcome to my new followers thank-you.
I was at Retreat last week-end Stitchville USA, we were lucky to have Cynthia Zittel from The Drawn Thread,  on friday we worked on a scissor fob this is done on 32 count Pink Sand Permin, I love the color so refreshing, it is stitched one over two threads, on the edges it is finished with beading, I love me some beadwork.

The Sampler we worked on on saturday is called A Pocket Full Of Stitches Sampler and Sewing Pocket, this is also worked on Pink Sand Permin Linen 32 count, Needlepoint Silk and Dinky Dyes silk threads, this is also stitched one over two,  I have started on this and will post pictures as I go along.

I love birds and had to do this little lovely as soon as possible this is from the bookPin Cushion Appeal by Just Another Button Company, totally love this book LaRue my dear Friend had this so of course I had to do the Bird, I did mine just a little different, I blanket stitched the wings on and stitched all the decorative stitches on the wings by hand, this sits on an old wooden thread spool, I found this at a thrift store long ago,  I am now glad I bought it, you never know what you will find at the thrift stores.

Next is a Hearts Content Floral Urn stitched on 100% Silk Gauze, I love this little project I did not want to do a framed picture so I finished it into a watch face, I will be adding a bead bracelet to finish it off.

I worked on this Drawn Thread Peace Scissor Fob last month on my IHSW, I just never did post it sometimes life gets way to busy for me, I stitched this on 36 count unknown fabric something that was in my stash closet, I used different threads then what it called for I also added a Swarovski crystal, instead of the called for Mill Hill bead, I love this and will finishe it maybe on tuesday or wednesday.

I hope all who celebrate Passover and Lent have a Blessed season and warm weather.

Blessings
