Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
It has been a little hectic around here and finally things are calming down a bit.
I did get my baking done yesterday and cleaning today.
Mike has had more doctors visits and will get his hearing aides tomorrow yahoo he is so happy, I am saddened he has lost his hearing completely in his right ear, the fact that he came into contact with agent orange when he was in the Navy back in the late 60s early 70s has done so much damage, his triple bypass the huge mass on his lung and the hearing loss has taken a toll on him.
The V.A. has been wonderful and very accommodating  to us, they say that this is a pattern of illness from agent orange, two times he was on land from the ship on  the days they had dropped agent orange so sad.
Anyways that is why I have not been around much this year, I plan on posting more next year and yes I am doing New Year resolutions, number 1 is to lose some weight and two is to stitch more and three post more here in Blog land.

Cathy, I was so sorry to read about all of Mike's health issues. I hope things continue to improve as you both adjust to the "new normal"... I, too, hope to be able to find more time to stitch in 2017! Merry Christmas and may 2017 be a year filled with blessings for you and your family. --Lynn

It sounds like it has been a very challenging year. But I'm glad that your husband has received such good care from the VA. Hope it is a better year for the two of you. Take care!

Catherine, you've had quite a stressful year. I hope the hearing aids are at least one bright spot as this year comes to a close. Your are both in my prayers. The after-effects from war are many. It is such a shame that Mike is suffering from them. My father contracted multiple-myeloma when he was quite young and I have often wondered whether it was connected to an explosion that occurred on the ship he was on during WWII. I will never know, but there has been some written speculation on that connection. I am so glad that Mike is getting excellent care through the VA. I wish both of you all the best in the coming year.
